Smiles Sent Saturday~2/28/2015~LetterMo

The last week of A Month of Letters Challenge was great for me I sent over a dozen pieces of mail!

This envelope went to an aunt in an area of the country getting having a hard winter, so for fun, I sent an extra copy I had of the childhood book The Tough Winter. It's about rabbits and other woodland animals making it through a "tough winter," hence the envelope decorations.

The envelope was to a friend.  The enclosed card had a cat an a field of white flowers.

These went to a brother and sister.  They are both working in books from Awana's Truth & Training program, so I wanted to write them on some paper I had for it and use the matching sticky notes as labels (attached with glue stick) yet I didn't want them to be exactly the same, so I used colored envelopes and different stamps...

Then sealed them with different tapes

This is the back of their mom's envelope.  I'm pretty excited about what I wrote on inside, but as she may read this blog, and I'm not sure it arrived yet, I'm holding off on posting it.  It may get it's own post with a printable...

I discovered something making this envelope-my stamp pad was dry, but I just put a couple drops of water on it and it worked fine!

Obviously this still needs another  postage stamp added, but as it didn't match as well, I scanned it before I added the other one.

I'd love for you to share your mail-themed posts:

Smiles Sent Saturday~February 21, 2015~LetterMo

Another busy mail week with A Month of Letters Challenge!  I was uninspired a little bit at times, but other times it really just flowed!  I managed to get out mail every day the mail was supposed to run-although one day it had to sit in the mailbox and wait due to winter weather.

This is a frog themed envelope I made for a friend who likes frogs.

This is the front of envelope holding a get well/encouragement card

...And the back

And this is just some of the other mail I sent-I didn't decorate all of it.  Some already had decorated envelopes, some I just wanted to leave plain, and some were postcards which can't really be decorated that much!

Smiles Sent Saturday~2/14/15~LetterMo

I'm taking part in the Month of Letters which means this was a busy mail week for me!  Then in the first two days of the week I found out about 18 more cards our family should send.  Some were sad-there was a death in the extended family, so we sent 8 sympathy cards.  I found cards and addressed and stamped envelopes for my grandmother, who live in an in-law suite at our house, to send 8 more.  But two were fun-a gentleman from our church and a great aunt are both celebrating 90th birthdays! I also sent the pink scalloped edged envelopes like I sent last week as well as:

This was for a family Valentine's card, front...

...and back.

This was a card I sent "for" a dog, the return address label was a dog tag stamp I enjoyed getting to use along with letter stamps to make the name (left a letter as an example)  and dotted an "i" with a paw print.  I was excited to find the stamp with a dog on it!

Another Valentine's envelope, front...

...and back

This envelope is part of my favorite stationary for LetterMo,it just coordinates with the Participate Stickers! And the envelope is a little thinner and you can just catch a hint of the writing through it.  You can see a photo of the stationery and stamp I used on my Scribbling Sarah Facebook page.

And here's my pile I'm preparing to mail going forward with the challenge!

I'd love to see what you are mailing!  If you blog, please use this linky, if not you can share on Scribbling Sarah's Facebook page!

Smiles Sent Saturday~February 7, 2015~LetterMo

Well, I've had a busy mail week to start off the Month of Letters Challenge.  Below is some of what I sent out this week:

Was excited to use this new snail stencil on "snail-mail"

Needed another envelope, and the only one I could find of the size had printing on it.  So, I used the need to cover the printing as an inspiration to decorate the envelope with decorative tape.  I think it turned out cute!

I had got these heart cards that are meant to craft cards out of to use to send to my great aunts for Valentines Day.  I haven't gotten into crafting cards, yet at least, so I just wrote on the front and had my family sign it and wrote a note inside.

As I was sending them to a number of people I decorated the envelopes two ways, couldn't decide which I liked best-all around, or only the sides.

Just a couple more Valentines envelopes I sent to family.
