Productive weekend

Well I had a productive weekend. I worked on half of my house goals for the year. Since we had a warm day on Saturday we worked outside and got the main section of the vegetable garden rota-tiled and mulched (that's it in-progress above). It doesn't look like much, but we're pretty much ready to plant when the season come around. We also got some mulch put on some of the areas for flower beds.

On Sunday I ordered my pictures to fill five of my six photo frames as well as a few to update the anchor frame. I can hardly wait for them to get here and fill up the frames.

Valentine's Stand-top Vignette

As you can see from this post, I've been wanting to decorate for more holidays, so here we go with Valentines Day. I decided to go with a more family love instead of

1st blogger award and prayer request

I would like to thank one of my followers, MacsGirl at Just a Jersey Girl, for passing on "The Versatile Blogger" award.

I would like to join her in requesting prayer for her friend, Brian. He, like me, has Chiari Malformation. Sadly, his was not caught as early as mine, and his surgery was not as successful. It sounds like he may not have much time left, if you would like to read more about this please see her post here.

Photo Frame Planning

Well, I'm getting to work on my house goals for this year. I'm starting with the picture frames. I have this wall I'd like to cover with frames:
The frame that is there now (doesn't it just fit just great?) is a graduation gift from my Aunt C. I found these college frames at CVS (we shop there a lot due

This year I hope to...

I saw on The Nester about making goals for what you want to get done on your house this year, and I thought it was a good idea, so here's mine:

Inside:
  • Decorate for more holidays (at least do Easter better, and add Memorial Day/Flag Day/4th of July) [Edit: I've started decorating for Valentines Day as you can see here]
  • Fill the photo frames I received as gifts (I hope to find verses, quotes from songs, etc. to print out and put in some of the slots.) (Edit: I've started planning how to fill these frames, you can see my progress in this post)
  • Start re-painting rooms

Outside:
  • Paint trim
  • Prepare flowerbeds
  • Have a money saving vegetable garden

GO BUCKEYES!!!

Well, tonight the Ohio State Buckeyes are in a BCS bowl yet again, this year we're not playing for another of these:
But we are in the Sugar Bowl, so we made sugar cookies and Buckeyes to enjoy for snacks:
For supper we had sub sandwiches, for more info on that, check out my sister's blog here (for recipe) and/or here (for the story behind it).

Are there any other Buckeyes out there? If so:

Un-decking the halls

I would like to give a few time saving hints for when one is taking down holiday decorations.

First, is one I wished I used this year. When one adds a lot of decorations for holidays, it can really change how one's year-round things are set up for instance this hutch:
Major decorations were added and/or removed from every level. Since I also decorated for fall and Thanksgiving, I don't really remember how I figured out for it to go normally and since I probably won't for another holiday for a month or two I want to reset it. I wish I had followed my Aunt L.'s example of taking a photo of
